"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations."
Wendy Gornicz - Missions Coordinator
For over 100 years, Emmanuel Assembly has been a Missions-Minded Church. We have been giving financial and prayer support to missionaries both local and abroad for many years. Just like they did in the early church, God’s people today are called to give to missions so that the Gospel will spread throughout the world. At Emmanuel, we support missions organizations here in the local community as well as AG missionaries who travel abroad to various countries throughout the world.
Every November, we hold a Missions Conventions with a guest missionary visit each Sunday of the month. It is always a wonderful to hear their stories, testimonies and amazing work they are doing for God's Kingdom. Be on the lookout for information on the 2025 Missions Convention to be posted in the coming months on our website and facebook!

Sam & Leisl

Sam & Leisl have been called to the "Islands of Southern Asia". They are skilled in teaching people how to raise fish in order to grow crops for food using hydroponics. (Fish live in the water and fertilize the crops that are grown.) This enables Sam & Leisl to build relationships and teach others the skills they need to produce food for their families and for others as well. This "fishy journey" is the door that God is using to open hearts to the Gospel.
Recently Sam & Leisl welcomed a new baby girl into their family and are home in the US resting and enjoying this new season of life. They plan to return soon to the field and reconnect with those that God has already been working on. Please join us in praying for them as they are home establishing their new family and for God to prepare them and the hearts of people in the Islands when they return.
Sam recently wrote a challenge to us as his support team. We hope and pray it is a blessing to you as you think about all that Jesus has done for you.
"When we look at the parable of the pearl of great price in Matthew 13:45-46 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it." We see here that a person was seeking fine pearls. I believe the pearl represents the Gospel and choosing to follow Jesus requires that we give our all for the one who already gave His all for us. Following Jesus requires the denial of self and sacrifice. It requires us to say, "Nothing I have in this life is worth more than my decision to follow the Way the Truth and the Life." Jesus doesn't just want to be a small part of our lives, He wants us to find our life in Him.
When I think about people like Hunza and our other Pakistani brother, I think about the great sacrifice that they have made to find their life in Him. Their yes to Jesus becomes a hard no from their families who reject them and their decision to follow Jesus. It may even cost them their mortal lives. But as Jesus said, "For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it" (Matthew 16:25)."
