Senior Pastor Jason Gomicz -
My wife Wendy and I have been married for nearly 18 years and have 5 wonderful children: Joshua (15), Rachel (13), Josiah (11), Jeremiah (9), and Anna (6). We believe that marriage and family are the building blocks not only of the Body of Christ but of civilization as well. Therefore, Wendy and I pour our lives into our marriage and our children; we spend a lot of time together playing, vacationing, reading the Word and praying. We love football (Go Giants!), the beach and nature in general, spending much time in the woods hiking. Day trips are common for our family, whether it is a trip to the zoo, a picnic at a state park or a dinner at Wendy’s. Wendy and I both have a hunger to spend much time in the presence of God through His Word, prayer and intercession, and silence and solitude. We strive to teach our children to do the same. And yes, after almost 18 years of marriage and 16 years of ministry, Wendy and I still date each other
I am a Pastor who believes strongly in discipleship and community. My ministry philosophy consists of three main parts: to preach the Word, pray, and identify and pour into leaders and workers so they, too, can do the work of ministry. The goal of this is that we would grow in God’s grace and relationship with each other, know Christ better, and, as disciples, fulfill the Great Commission and the Great Commandment in our community
Stephen Fulkes--Associate Pastor & Worship Pastor
Stephen Fulkes was born January 22, 1978 in Twin Falls Idaho. The son of a pastor, he has been exposed to ministry of one form or another all his life. He attended public schools in southern Idaho graduating from high school in 1996. From a very early age Stephen has been passionate about music and began singing in front of people around age 8. He began playing the Trumpet at age 12, the drums at age 13, and was active in band and jazz band all through Junior High and High School.
At a summer camp in high school, Stephen began to feel God’s call to be in some sort of ministry involving music. While not knowing for sure what that specific work would be, he started to prepare for whatever it was God wanted him to do.
After graduating high school, Stephen started college at the College of Southern Idaho, majoring in Music performance. While at CSI, he performed in the Concert Band, Jazz Band, Concert Chorale, Madrigal Choir, and Orchestra. Stephen attended CSI long enough to finish general education requirements and then transferred to North Central University in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he finished his Bachelor’s degree in Music performance, and also included a concentration in Biblical studies. Stephen Graduated from NCU in 2001. He returned to Idaho and did secular work for a year until he got his first opportunity to become a Music Pastor at a church in the small town of Hagerman, Idaho. While there, Stephen learned how to lead worship from the piano, adding another instrument to his arsenal.
While at college in Minneapolis, Stephen met his future wife Michelle. They dated for a while in 2001, but split up after a few months. They reconnected years later through a series of miraculous events and knew at once that they were supposed to get married. Stephen and Michelle were married in June of 2008.
Stephen and Michelle both love children and were blessed with the birth of their first daughter, Zipporah in May 2009, Shiloh in November 2010, and Tirzah in February 2013. Stephen and Michelle feel wonderfully blessed to be entrusted with these three amazing girls, and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
Stephen Joined the staff of Emmanuel Assembly of God in the position of Associate pastor/Music pastor in October of 2009. In that time he has lead worship on Sundays, lead choirs for Christmas and Easter, preached, started playing guitar, taught classes, been involved in Mega sports camp, lead worship in Youth group, and all sorts of other ministries. Stephen is a Licensed minister with the Assemblies of God and is working on his Ordination.
It has been a pleasure for both Stephen and Michelle to be servants at Emmanuel Assembly of God and are excited to see what God has in store for His church in the future.
Pastor Josh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Shippensburg University and a Master’s in Information Security from Carnegie Mellon University and currently also works outside the church in IT Risk Management. Pastor Josh and Sarah were married in 2006 and arrived in Allentown with the intention of staying for two years before moving closer to Josh’s work. God, however, had radically different plans for their lives. Approximately one year after arriving at Emmanuel, Josh and Sarah were asked to lead the youth group. They were blessed to serve in this ministry for almost 5 years. During this time Josh worked through correspondence courses from the Berean School of the Bible and received his pastoral license in 2011. Josh and Sarah have been blessed with two amazing sons, Josiah and Judah. Josh currently serves as the Outreach Pastor at Emmanuel, helping to coordinate various outreach activities and taking every opportunity he can to remind everyone that we have been placed here to change the world and that outreach is the responsibility and privilege of every believer that should be ingrained in our daily lives as well as every ministry of the church.
Rosa Cody serves as the church Adminstrative Assistant.
